@Manga Anime to be clear, she was getting worked up over his 'man smell' not his doo doo. Evidence- she smelled it before the bathroom. - when he was in the bathroom she was freaking out because she couldn't smell it anymore

@Hand Sanitizer Dude i know its rather late to respond to this, 2 years later and all lol, but... the guy is a victim here. He is nit a criminal. His "friend" said they were going to pick up girls, he thought they meant cruise for chicks. When the kidnapping occurred he was shocked and disagreed with what was happening. When his friend said he was an accomplice and couldnt back out now, he thought about it for a second then slammed the breaks and said he couldnt be part of it. He probably would have gotten beaten or killed by his "friend" and fellow rapists if the honey badger didnt kill them first. He put his life on the line to refuse to commit the crime.

He was unaware, and when confronted with what was happening tried to put a stop to it.

Dude is a good guy, not a criminal.

@aasegovia88 nah, ushigome not on top. She lost because she forced a kiss on him without consent, there just hasnt been a resolution of that yet. And in this chap you see hodaka specify that kissing requires consent. And pf course immediately afterwards takae shoots herself in the foot by forcing a kiss too. On top of getting rejected.
The big 3 names 'most likely to win' have always been ushigome, takae, and kuzuhana, as they have had the strongest influence on the plot and on hodaka. The other characters have been support plot points.
And kuzuhana is making a 'sacrifice play' to help and protect him right now while the others are being selfish. From a story perspective she is establishing herself as theone to win by showing she values him more.
Her fade out of the story for so many chapters, to come back stronger now, is a misdirect intending to make the audience turn their belief to others. Imo the author kept her away for far too long lol, it created frustration. 

And as a side note..... while i understand why takae had to 'eliminate herself', i think it was a sad way to do it by her forcing a kiss. Because it erased dozens of chapters of character development. She was becoming someone who seemed less selfish and more supportive. A person i liked. I get why... the author is doing the "underneath their love for hodaka, the girls are still the delinquents they were when you first met them" thing. Proof of this concept is the deliberate reminder of the panty blackmail incident from chap 1.

@Darthtroll i havent read it yet (its on my to read list), but from what i understand public opinion is its a good manga, but unpredictable.

@Izumi it was. I feel this arc broke down the biggest barriers between them the most compared to past arcs. Situationally it feels like its building to endgame.

@Joel what i see is "paving the way". Each side couple has been a lesson that has helped guide the way for yu and one(all maybe? A guy can hope) of the 3. this time it was a "breaking the status barrier"
