For the People wondering why he locked himself in the fridge, snakes or other cold blooded creatures will enter a sort of hibernation state if the temperature  goes too low (below 60° fahrenheit =16°C), they will slow down their own metabolism, as well as their other body functions but compared to a normal hibernation they will wake up often to eat or just lay in the sun during the warmer days. Snakes will leaves that state once the temperature rise again  (normaly during spring in most regions). There is a lot of other things to say i aint typing all that.
Oh and this state is called brumation ( I dont know if it is also called like that in english but traduction site says so.) 
I love snakes their quite interesting.
