@Ritz in my country, practices similar to this is pretty common. It is said that if someone wants to get richer, they'd keep a kind of ghost as a pet. The ghost will then be a thief around the neighborhood and the owner won't get charged with anything (since the ghost did it for him). The owner then feed the ghost with b*ood, but not some random b*ood. It has to be transfered from a living human, specifically a woman. So the ghost will b*eastfeed from the owner's wife, or daughter, or any woman in the household to keep it alive. But the women's livelihood is screwed and they tends to live shorter. They looked ill most of the time, people said. So yeh, there are crazy people doin shi like this unfortunately.
