Hmm I don't feel bad for hyunjae at all:
- he only feels this way because he misses having the cute nokyoung under his thumb (he still abandoned him as soon as he lost his looks and was willing to ruin his career)
- hyunjae still doesn't care about nokyoung he just misses the control and in this version things aren't going as planned so he decided to blow the spot up, when things were going as planned he did the things no probs (he may have felt bad after even in that version but who cares lol)
- and in both versions of events he knew things wouldn't end great for him, as he said he knew as soon as he got mixed up with hanil he was a weirdo
- also also even if you think hyunjae is redeemable in this version because he did "nice" things when really he just didn't follow through with the evil plans around nokyoung, he was still willing to do that to other people he didn't feel affection for
