Him saying "Oh okay! FROM NOW ON I'll only spend my nights with you" makes it sound like he's confirmed that he's slept with his concubines, but that NOW after TODAY he'll only be with Tei. From Tei's perspective that probably feels like a knife to the gut and even feels a little gross/nauseating. (If it's true) It's something I think he could've looked past, had Shuraka been more communicative in what he should expect once they go back to the kingdom. 

All of this just started off on the wrong foot ever since Shuraka came back into his life. He of course had expected things to change (since time had passed and Shuraka had grown up), but for him to be kind of cold to him and seem like he was not monogamous and fee physically replaced is understandably hurtful. And if it's all a misunderstanding then Shuraka should've communicated better so they could both be honest and talk. 

I agree with the sentiment of everyone else here.

The issue isn't necessarily the fact a ruler has concubines. It's that he specifically used phrases like "You're the only one for me" "I've only ever loved you!" "You were the person I thought of every night and I can't wait to make you my wife". In all of that, it implies monogamy and that he'd be the ONLY one. You'd think he'd at least mention he already has had concubines for years now, on their way back to his kingdom!

It's like a slap to the face to get hit with all the concubines as a surprise once he's arrived. How could he NOT feel hurt. He probably still would've married him and came with him to his kingdom, and yeah still felt bothered by it but at least he'd have time to mentally prepare himself! 

Obviously even HE was not expecting for it to be a child 😭 makes sense why the original proposal should've been the young princess lol!

and obviously them meeting years later shows he didn't pursue and go through with a marriage to a CHILD 😭

People have to understand that in a society like this, you cannot brush off or allow any disrespect from someone being this rude. I know it made you mad" you'd instead just say something like "I know I make you uncomfortable" and nothing else. 

In this type of society as the top "wife" you'd have to show everyone you do not tolerate disrespect from someone who strongly puts your position at a risk. People would talk behind your back and laugh at you and start siding with the "new competition". I don't agree with a society like this but it's just how it is

I can relate to Ho, in the way that I'm the type of person who can't help but only rely on myself. It's very hard to get myself to rely on others, but at the same time I'm friends with everyone. I'm just a bit distant from them. And people definitely do talk behind my back (even when I've never talked about them) and judge how I'm not living like everyone else. People get mad because I don't date the people they want to introduce me to, and are always asking to know if I'm dating and who I'm dating. I've dated only like 2 times and never introduced them to everyone because I like to be private until it gets serious. And just because of that, people around me think I'm secretly a lesbian or hate men or something 🤣. They want me to already have a child and be married just because everyone else is. It bothers them that I don't behave and think like everyone else. I don't feel the rush or need to do what everyone else is doing, I'm not worried about it
