@Brianna i think the reason is maybe there is still a residue of her power within him and he just doesn't realize that? because he had the power for months i don't think it can be just taken completely from him

Mayonaka Heart Tune, i am following this though my complaint the pacing is a bit slow and repeptive sometimes but overall a pretty good manga

and yeah first time was okay cause they weren't beside him that time 
but this time it is infront of the mage with op powers like she is freaking reinhard from re:zero
a merchant that if she wants can probably make the economy of the country dissappear
a spirit mage that can summon beings that can one shot the country
and the untouchable saintess this situation would be hopeless i would understand why would she retreat
