This is where I'm dropping. I'm not into this kind of misery and revenge plots.

.... isn't that all revenge stories?
Or do you like the happy go lucky "revenge" stories where the MC is just SOOOO nice that he'd forgive someone for cucking him bc he magically has better women now?

@Aki I don't like happy go lucky revenge stories like that either. What I like is the mc starting over again and doing all he can to protect what's left, meeting new people, making better friends and letting go of the hatred because it's beneath him. In this specific case I would find more interesting if the mc protected the defenseless humans and build his own kingdom. In this scenario he would have no choice but to cut the root of all evil acting in the name of justice instead or revenge. Thinking about the bigger picture instead of the few thugs that betrayed him.

You want "revenge by doing better" which is as close to what I said. They're just so nice that they don't even bother with them anymore. They have better things going on since they have the plot armor. No revenge actually happened apart from the MC gaining insane powers/fame or beautiful women. This is parallel to the happy go lucky theme I mentioned. They just constantly have the moral high ground while also being "merciful" since "karma" punished them.
It's completely fine to not like darker/edgy revenge stories, but denying that you don't want the "happy go lucky" is just a lie.
