@Runt just so you know winter had the power to know the monster identity he just didn't because he liked her the world ended because of his fault and he turned back the time, so the Penelope was stuck in a cruel world for a long time, he didn't even guess it the second time he turned the time back, it took him a hundred times until Penelope's soul was exhausted to the brim. If he just did his job you know correctly and investigate the suspicious person that came up to him then nobody would've suffered. And instead of helping Penelope he just made it harder her that's why i don't feel bad for him

@Lourdlysia this is my thoughts: the one thing that I will say is that Winter (just like everyone else) had a spell placed on them. (We know a spell was affecting them because in this story we read Penelope has the mind control artifact and everyone trusts Y-what's-her-name a lot less). Also because no one remembers the hundreds of loops (except Penelope?) no one can change because there's no inciting incident. Overall, being Winter suck
