not to say i told you so, but... it was pretty obvious from the beginning that tj didn't give a rat's a** about what ian actually wants. he was always set in what he wanted for his own future, consequences be damned.
whenever he felt ian withdrawing from him, he orchestrated some bullshit that would end up keeping him tied to tj, whether that was psychological manipulation or actual physical harm, he didn't care so long as he got his way.
even when he said that he was going to let him go after the funeral, tj still had people following ian and jo, because he never really intended to let him get away completely. he's a sociopath who acts solely on his own greed.
