@totmes this is just my original comment at the top but ill give it to u. I think Marquis(the crown prince) is only afraid of Edgar because he is self biased towards himself and fails to understand Edgar, only imagining him as that same little small kid. When hes not, Edgar is at least a teen or an adult when he betrays him and that means he witnessed everything Marquis did for love, violence, war, and murder. Nobody would want to love a monster like that, someone who lacks the empathy and respect to understand that human life is precious, treating people he didn’t know as nothing but objects. Edgar did not see his loving brother or guardian, he saw a monster.
