I agree, like with the regression, which it seemed like "The End of the World" was going to happen, but then just didn't, considering the Dragon dude's Grandma told him of the impeding doom, and then told him it wasn't happening. So, that was that, making the MC wait for a portal that never happened.
Now with Gaia defeated, which only just trapped people in the game, like that's seems about it.
