The book is actually called Diary of a Madman, written by Lu Xun. It was written as a critique of feudal China. The book uses generational cannibalism to represent the idea of the collective consuming the individual, brutalizing them, and causing them to partake in the cannibalism themselves. There are perhaps children out there who haven’t eaten anyone yet. Save the children.
