Wei Ying used to live in the streets before he was taken in by the Jiang Clan. During that period, he struggled to eat and had to sometimes encounter ferocious dogs which would attack him, fight him and scare him for food.
After that, when he was adopted, he developed a fear of dogs no matter how big or small. It's a deeply rooted trauma.
