@Joongdok valid point but its not really the mc's job and purpose to help siegfrad or wtv that blondies name is at all. just because mikhail is the main character doesnt mean he has to help everyone with everything, plus the only reason he gave up being the hero or being a candidate is cause he didnt feel worthy enough. so what if he made a bad choice by giving that up? sieg guy legit had the backing of probably most of everyone anyways and even if he didnt correct sieg dudes mistakes atleast he stayed and helped him not to mention there were flashbacks where the mc legit said not to do something and bro still did it like cmon bsfr aint no way.
