that is exactly the reason that makes me root for Matthias instead of Kyle. Kyle is like a kite in the wind, just being played around by external circumstances and can only react to what's happening to him, while Matthias is actively driving forward his own plot, where his only weakness is his paradox obsession with Leyla. Only Matthias can get revenge/exert justice, he is in control of everything (besides Leyla hehe), that's the kind of character you want as a ML, not a weak do-nothing-sir-goodie-two-shoes (sorry Kyle)

@Manga_Mania did you read the novel?
@Manga_Mania as someone who's also read the novel, i'm rooting for no-one. i really wish the author gave Layla and her uncle a happier end.
Kyle is a good friend but would not have been a great partner because despite his academic smarts, he allows his mother too much control over his life. as for Matthias, "actively driving forward his own plot" means abusing his power and status to pursue and assault a woman of a far lower class, so no he's not "the character you want as a ML".
unless you're just reading for the drama, which is totally fine—until you deny that the things he does are incredibly damaging/immoral and repackage them as examples of being charismatic.
