I'll never understand how a person can just up remarried and leave their child behind in that environment. Worked with many DV victims over the course of my career but never met one who left without their child. Had one who would run for a few days leaving the children knowing the spouse never hurt them but always return. When she finally left for good they were with her. Both ML parents were trash.
