Seconds not everyone is from the same world
Most people there are just average either force or they choose to be there but
The difficulty of the maze creep up in a hard way +annoying gods + other who either want your loot or kill you,

So as humans tend to be social it not far off to say what they did is a logical act of desperation

What i respect is the fact they fully understand if you kill someone or have the will to do it your sould be prepared to die viscera 
So they dont cry about getting the karma they know they going die so a painlessly death sound a relifed
