When Anna realized that she was pregnant with her second child, she knew that the cult was going to try to take over the child's body and fled to protect the family. Unfortunately, Anna and Rania could not escape the cult forever and they were killed, a member of the cult stole Rania's body and did what someone else mentioned in other spoilers.
Rania was murdered only 3 years before the beginning of the story, if she had been able to hide for a little longer maybe she could have been saved and be the older sister to Camila and Ravi
