@XMLrm SPOILER ALERT- long story short Leyla's uncle sets some garden area of the palace on fire by accident (i dont remember this part exactly but something of this sort happens) and then when Leyla's goes to Matthias to ask him for help since her uncle is going to end up in prison, he blatantly refuses because before this entire thing happens he gets to know through his grandma that Leyla is soon about leave and since he doesn't want her to he tells Leyla if she wants his help she must sleep with him regularly. Initially appalled by the idea, she says no but ofcourse she ends up going there cuz her Uncle's life is at stake and from here onwards the darkness begins.

@simpformyblbabies no,he knew she was gonna leave before her uncle blew up the greenhouse and gen (by accident) and ofc the uncles gonna rot in jail cause he is only a garderner, so leyla goes to Matthias and he tells her that he wants to you know* ( to make a deal with her) she gets angry and leaves after 3 days she comes back and basically they do the do and he sets her uncle free.
See the thing here is that Matthias is a cunning man yeah, and when the explosion happens he was kind of happy that he found a reason to keep leyla by his side ( cause he doesn't want her to go) and even tho the whole situation is fuc*** up, they would have still did the boombaya one way or the other ( cause basically the story is about them and originally,the novel was classified as DARK ROMANCE omg, it's not meant to be candies,lilies and all that fairytale stuff, it's meant to be COMPLICATED) u guys can't even take that
