Comment on ChapterA Stepmother's Märchen - Chapter 120
This chapter revealed the mind game that Richelieu is planning as I mentioned in the previous chapters. Richelieu is disgusted by the corruption in the vatican system, so he wanted to change it all by becoming the future pope. On this path that Richelieu is walking, he has to face many obstacles.

Richelieu failed to disposed off his first obstacle, cardinal Meissner (the one who opened the gambling house with the prince). At least he could manage his second task in this plan, which is gaslighting the prince.

2 years ago, when Theodore first planned this casino place with Meissner, Richelieu already knew of their plans, and he knew even more than what Meissner informed the prince. He knew all about Meissner connection, and who did he used to manage and advertised this place. The prince is only joining for the profit and the fame he can harvested after this place became successful.

Richelieu also knew about the downfall of this place the moment that Elias got trapped by pawning his beloved birthday present. Sarcastically, Richelieu did warn the prince but he didn't say in details why the prince has to be careful. His action made the young prince lost his temperament and chased Richelieu away whenever he came for new advice. After that, the prince passed Richelieu position as the prince tutor to Meissner, so he can both talk about the business and block Richelieu from coming to make fun of him.

After that, Richelieu planned to have the big clergy guy to follow Meissner as his underling to proceed with the next plan and make the prince feel devastated for his choices. The target that he aimed for is Lucas (MC's brother). With Richelieu's meddling, Lucas is able to run away and have a face to face quarrel in the back alley (view the chapters where Nora and Jeremy infiltrated the place). This is for the prince to understand how ignorant he had been when this plan was something that he had a joined hand in.
Richelieu has to dispose of Lucas because he is not a righteous person. If he ignored Lucas, he would come back and bite Meissner, which is good news. But the bad news is that he can also cause harm for the reputation of both Theodore (because Lucas recognized him as one of the main masterminds) and the Vatican (Lucas can do all that, he’s smart, but he didn’t use this for the right things). Theodore is his stepping stone and the Vatican is his belief. Of course, Richelieu wanted to protect both.
On that same night when Nora and Jeremy started the infiltration, Richelieu had already come to the prince's private chamber and waited for him to come back. Richelieu brought the big guy with him so that the prince wouldn’t chase him out this time. The moment Theodore saw the big guy, he knew that all those years thinking that he had outlived Richelieu was false. Richelieu got him dancing in his palm but he never told the prince about the things that he should and shouldn’t do.
The prince got mad and nagged him for not being the teacher he should be and this is where the gaslighting happened. Richelieu told Theodore that he didn’t do anything wrong, because

1. Lucas is a bas**** and he deserved that ending. MC didn’t like him much so he either died in their hands or died in MC gangs’ hands.

2. If the prince didn’t trust or listen to Richelieu’s advice, his path would be more difficult and no one can come to save him.

3. The prince can cry and be weak as he can be, having a heart to be wary of logical thinking is a good choice, Richelieu can lead him to the path that he wanted.
The gaslighting that Richelieu had been doing since Theodore was little has finally completed.

--> The prince believed that Richelieu is stating the fact. While Richelieu only said it half lie half truth to trick the prince.

2. If the prince didn’t trust or listen to Richelieu’s advice, his path would be more difficult and no one can come to save him.
--> The prince will have a mindset that because he ignored Richelieu words, that why he didn't want to gae the prince more details advice. Everything started going out fof control the moment Richelieu is no longer his royal tutor.
