I think the people who are blaming Annette (I don't know the spelling of her name) should reread chapter 15 and there Is a part that she says that she was born and raised wrong. And she thought there were thinks that she didn't have to understand and she knew where hes hatred came from so don't blame her for smiling as also back then ladies of nobles were taught nothing about politics and even if she read the newspaper she wouldn't know and I know he has gone through sh** but that's still doesn't explain why he treated her that way . @Lama they want a cool and rebellious FL who goes against all odds and becomes the leader of her family despite being a woman without any education on politics during that time but they also want the story to be historically accurate lmao
