The thing is Leyla thought that she became his mistress would be short-time fling before his marriage. But of course Matt didn't thinks so.She ran away to secluded place with Uncle Bill. The she found out that she was pregnant with Matt's child. She decided to keep the baby.

 

During two seasons (iirc) she ran away, Matt literally went crazy. He kept missing her. Then the war began. He volunteer to go to war since he had no mean to live anymore. His engagement got delayed again since he went to war.

 

The village/town where Leyla stayed was literally the war zone. So one day Uncle Bill got kill by bomb or something like that. Leyla left alone. She felt devastrated with Uncle Bill's death.

Then something expected happened. Matt met Leyla in war zone. But Leyla rejected him strongly. Matt saw Leyla's belly and concluded that he was the baby's father. He had new hope to tie her since he couldn't threatened her with Uncle Bill again. He kept plestering on her. The funny thing was, the baby in her belly kinda calmed when Matt got near her (since the baby heard his father's voice).

Then one day she got high fever, Matt took care of her in safer place. She was so sick to the point she dream about Uncle Bill and recalled about her childhood. She called Kyle name too. Watched her suffering and kept rejecting him, Matt made a decision to let her go. He called Kyle (he became somekind of doctor war) and said to him that he would let go of her. 

 

That He would take care of the expenses wherever she wanted to live in the future and the baby's expenses too.

 

Leyla condition got better and Kyle told her about Matt's decision. He asked her once again to go with him, but Leyla rejected him since she knew deep down she only loved one person even though she kept denied that feeling. Then one of Matt's friend (I don't remember his name) told her about Matt's suffering since she ran away. He told her too that Matt arranged a place for her far from war zone. In that moment when she realized she couldn't see him again, she admitted her feeling. Then she decided to meet him.

 

I don't really remember about their confession moment. What I remember is that Leyla tied a ribbon to his wrist and said that she and the baby would wait for him to come back. He gave her their baby's name. Then they separated again.

 

Leyla delivered the baby boy safely. She named him Felix as what Matt told her. She lived her daily life with her baby while waiting for him to come back. Then the news about Matt's death appeared in newspaper. Many people believed in that news, but Matt's family gonna wait until they found the body, Claudia break off the engagement and married other man, lastly Leyla of course didn't believe in that news and kept waiting for him.

 

Then one day he really came back. He went home first and confessed to his family that he loved Leyla and they already had a baby. His family kinda shook but knew all along that he liked Leyla and they couldn't watch him suffered again like the last time.

 

Then he came to look for Leyla. They met again at park where Leyla spent her time with the baby (their moment kinda sweet here).
