basically when he discovers that the only reason fl was after him was bcuz of revenge so he "tests" her and thinks that shis lying to him and never liked him cuz his niece tells him that(she didnt know he was the one she was talking abt) so the next day fl goes to the aquarium and waits for him for hours but he ghosts her and doesnt show up (he was actually watching her from his car but he doesnt get out and js watches her waiting for him and js leaves after a bit and goes back to his city) and for a long while they dont talk to each other
