@Holdon I Agree as well, that's probably why I also really enjoyed and find intrest within the very arcs that bothers to delve more into the side charcters.

I don't think any of Light followers have any true background story. They are all cards from his gift. If they do, his gift is going to need a solid explanation for it.

It is just my guess but their levels are also probably fixed. 

@4coins I didn't necessarily mean a backstory, more like, actually giving some depth to the characters themselves, I used Aoyuki as an example cause I'm pretty sure she has done nothing since the start of the manga aside from off screen missions, we don't really know her as a character the way we know Nazuna or Ellie

@Holdon well if I'll have a opinion I would say that the writer wants to improve the story by giving depth to the side characters but it's still not enough I mean it's kinda cliche. I certainly liked the story but the repetition of report action win is little annoying but last some chapters were good the interaction with Masters and "C".
