@Shrimpforlive im not supporting it or anything but back then marriage at a young age was considered normal. you only find it weird bc of current times. maybe 50 years later people under 30 would be considered under-age, we all view things differently based on culture and beliefs. Even now most countries have their age of consent at around 13-16 and age of marriage at 18 so its not as weird as you might think (but ml is kinda old tbh).
