The main point here is that for others he will use condom but for him, he won't. Something with being connected skin to skin.
It was such a nice touch for the author to show the character's inner thoughts.

@LeniSnow I don't think is that deep tbh. All the others were women so he had no choice really. This one's a guy so in his mind they don't need one yet he clearly missed his s** ed class about STDs between men as well. Even if that's truly what he desired (raw s** with him regardless of STDs), he should've communicated it better. The way he said it was rude and unfair to the MC. Don't romantize that, please.
