I’m not American neither do I understand the history of what’s going on in this book but I would legit be pissed if someone made a comic about how we were once slaves in the old times. Honestly I wasn't planning to read this but I just found some info about it on TikTok and about how it's been cancelled due to some controversy. The author made the right decision.
I read literally everything. I'm female and I also like Kurosaki Ichigo and Anime. I read action manhwa for a living. You will never find out who I am. #Naijababe
@Archie they make movies about it every so often and the director and writers will be white people. The protagonist wasn’t a racist fought on the right side and gave his money to help the freed slaves. There is no real issue here, just people nitpicking
@Anonofurbusiness would you rather they be historically inaccurate just to get a story out. Would that they continue only making little fantasy bl just to appease you guys. Yall want people to learn but accost them whenever they do something you don’t like. At the end of the day there will be stories that take place in periods y'all don’t like by people that don’t know a lot. Instead of being dicks how about actually being helpful

@Lidia “something i don’t like” is a wild way to put it when we’re literally talking about slavery. i’m allowed to be uncomfortable with how something that serious is shown, especially when it’s just thrown into a BL manhwa like background drama.
if people are meant to “learn” from it, why is a BL manhwa the source anyway? it’s kinda disappointing if younger people’s first idea of slavery comes from a boys’ love comic instead of an actual history class.
and i still don’t get how we’re “being dicks”. how are we meant to be helpful, by not saying anything, giving zero backlash to the plot and just reading on like nothing’s weird? criticism is part of engaging with media, not us randomly attacking for fun. but how would u suggest we be helpful ?
