In novel ,zhenya follows deer deep in forest leaving taekjoo behind .and taekjoo is closer to mansion than he's to zhenya so there was a genuine chance he could make it back...he was already half way towards mansion when zhenya hunted deer that gave him cue to run faster but zhenya has plot armour so you can't blame taekjoo for trying...I would run too if my kidnapper left me alone...so manhwa didn't do a good job at illustrating.dont you ever call taekjoo dumb.
