I'm so confused, why did Viper get his eye taken? The guy who volunteered that he's in his 20s and has type A blood had to be a dummy that was telling the truth because why would you lie that you match the target description? Even if someone didn't immediately attack you, you are still basically volunteering to have your eye removed in a place with no medical equipment to do so.
So since he's telling the truth, Viper violently ripping his eye out meant that he was holding an item that matched the description of what they were looking for. Fitting the theme of the ghost story, he found the lost item that was lacking. So why was his eye taken instead of the one he was holding? Maybe it was too damaged to be used as the "lost item"?
