Where Winds Meet is both free and RPG I think it suits, you can customize and you do get skills n items for your build though their is some limiters (;m;) like sub proffessions rlly (I personally choose healer and range) it's a bit diff at first but you can get a hang of it, it also has guilds and PVP, Multiplayer and Storymode depending on how you wanna play.
there is some big evens for Guild V Guild and there is a sys for Sects too (chinese based game is why) you can marry, or be a teacher with sudents or be a studen with a teacher, so I think it checks out pretty well (it's on steam)

More seriously, you can play a free trial including the Heavensward, Stormblood and Shadowbringer extensions (so around 200 hours just for the MSQ). You can play all the jobs you want (starting with one, you can unlock the starters jobs as soon as you reach lvl 10. Then you can unlock more advanced jobs at higher levels like Red Mage, Samouraï, Gunbreaker, Astromancian, Machinist, Reaper... You can also get crafters and gatherers jobs ^^
The community is really friendly and helpfull with sprouts.
