@Kat Either they await a worse fate or it's their families and loved ones shoved in by force. Regardless, it feels like it's something they can't win, unless they properly rally together.
But if that mother's speech was any indication, they are so indoctrinated in the believe that if they're good and follow the established rules, they get rewarded by long life. However, I have a feeling that even that's not exactly the case and this whole "ascension" is just utter shíte to keep people complacent and obedient.

@Kat 3-5 chapter you will understand a real world belief..

@Kat not forever but as normal humans. They're not different from people in earth after all. And it'll be explained next chapters but i highly recommend to read the novel for a detailed explanation. I'm sure the manhwa will do fine but explanations in the novel regarding this series is way better. Spoilers from novel readers will just lead to confusion too since they have different understanding and way with words to explain about this scenario.
