Comment on ChapterJinx - Chapter 64.5
I wish doctor Dan was a MMA fighter instead of a doctor . I feel like an opportunity was missed here . It would be so interesting to see Dan as a rival fighter to Mr. Joo. Both of them as fighters in the ring. Rivals to lovers . They slowly grow close by bonding through fighting. It would be interesting.  Unfortunately this hasn't happened.
I'm a transgender man ftm and a gay man. I read all kinds of Manga and Manwha.  My favorites are seinen,  sci-fi , horror , and BL. I do read some shounen as well, mostly very old shounen though .

@Foregroundeclispe thatd change the whole plot of the story😭😭🙏
they wouldn't have met for the physical therapy and nor would they have banged the night before jaekyung's fights

Yes it would change things, but for the better I believe.  There's such a inbalance between them . There's no emotional connection here. Just s**. Which you can have s** in a story. I just need substance and something more. Atleast if both Dan and Joo were both fighters it would create a deeper bond and they would be able to relate to eachother better since both would be in the same world, which is MMA. They bond through fighting and communicate through their fists in the ring . Which leads to love . The whole s** thing will have more depth and meaning behind it if the story were written like this .

I'm just left feeling disappointed and dissatisfied with this series . Which is unfortunate.
Mabye Dan could end up in physical therapy  after their match together. In this hypothetical other story, Joo would vist him because they have grown closer . Joo starts to respect Dan .And then it gose from there.
@Foregroundeclispe i understand what ur trying to say maybe in that scenario joo wouldn't have come off as so much of a bitchy character w the most disgustingly selfish personality to us readers
i agree w the communicating part aswell
but yk jinx wouldn't remain jinx at that point lmao itd just like amother enemies to lovers kinda trope story where they live happily ever after and spar for fun
their rivalry would turn either into just professional or more ahead one of them would drop off of the stream
then also there might be a chance to turn dan into doc dan but itd be near to impossible to turn this thing into something complex or atleast interesting to the readers...
cuz believe it or not, this mess makes us readers want to read more no matter how annoying jaekyungs behaviorisms are.
but i agree w ur point
maybe im wrong maybe ur idea could work aswell
@uhuhe my bad, i accidentally commented the same thing twice
@uhuhe i keep doing it 😭😭😭😭

but yk i hate how joo has treated dan, maybe what ur saying could guve justice to what author has turned dans faith into
that lil baby just seems so helpless😭😭
if someone has to put w this kinda sh** irl, id prefer that they run far far away from the person

Not necessarily.  In the case of another work I read. In Ashita No Joe, the rivals either end up died or handicapped due to CTE or grueling weight cutting to stay in shape or from sustaining serve injures from the fight.  So this story could have been turned into a romantic tragedy.  Which in my opinion would be so interesting.  This series hasn't acknowledged CTE or risks involved that could apply to MMA as well. No character Joon has fought against has ever died  or even developed CTE. This would create more stakes involved , making it feel more raw and authentic in each fight. Creating really good writting and character drama . Joon could develop CTE in this other hypothetical story  or Dan later on as their story progressed as a couple.  Creating a realistic outcome that could happen .  In Ashita No Joe, Yabuki Joe starts off an a****** but has more of a empathetic reason as to why.  Yabuki Joe was failed by the system,  abandoned by his parents at a very young age, left in poverty all his life. He's a wander who's a troubled angry boy with no sense of direction . Which why his cruel behavior makes sense, not justified but understandable.  Rikiishi Toru, Yabuki Joe's rival , humbled Joe in their scuffle and gave Yabuki Joe purpose.  Rikiishi influenced Joe and brought out his best qualities as a person. Yabuki Joe changes and becomes alot kinder later on from his interactions between Rikiishi and Carlos Rivera. Yabuki Joe is still mean at times but not as much as he used to be. He becomes mature and more respectful of a boxer. Yabuki  Joe becomes a better man, not perfect but changed none the less. Rikiishi Toru made Yabuki Joe want to box in the first place .That's why when something terrible happens to Toru Rikiishi, not going to spoil it, Yabuki Joe is left mentally scar-ed by it. It's in grief Yabuki Joe finally realized that Toru Rikiishi was the only person who understood him and the only person he could confide in. These men are looking for connection . And it's through fighting they find someone who not understands them but also are someone they can connect with . That's where I'm coming from .
