I can't really say that Ash deserves the sh** he's getting, because he was following what rules and regulations Karlyle put down for him throughout the entire contract relationship.
Just because we saw Karlyle's turmoil with his feelings doesn't mean Ash did too, Ash only did what Karlyle asked if him; no useless feelings throughout the situationship.
He didn't chase after him because it was a contract relationship to him, like Karlyle had instructed him on. It was supposed to be purposeful, and discreet, which Ash complied with.
Ash is a good guy, it's just Karlyle has his own troubles and sh** he's sorting through right now.
