I think he's really overwhelmed right now and probably realized his uncle does have a point. Pereshatie is an empathetic person with a dangerously strong sense of sacrifice, she is her last priority in emergencies like these and doesn't care much about her own safety if it means others will be saved. Most ppl in their family absolutely adore her and that's why it's even harder to see her getting hurt bc she got entagled with them. The uncle isn't just saying that because his conscience is dictating it, but also because he came to genuinely care about her.
Therdeo is at a point where he doesn't see a life without her and he's still shaken because she almost died (again) but this time it could've been for real since her curse wasn't working. Plus, there's no actual telling she would be safer away from them now that things have gone this far
They have already announced her as a precious person to them, leaving her to her own devices now would be the same as throwing her to the sharks, if she's lucky and there aren't particularly hungry she'll be OK, but if they are...(not to mention the princess won't leave her alone)
