it is likely that brother pei's current behavior of being excessively overprotective and controlling towards his brother stems from a past experience in which yang yang was mistreated during their youth. this may have caused brother pei to develop a cautious and guarded approach towards their interactions with others that manifests as controlling behavior.. (don't get mad, this is just my opinion.)
