I somewhat get why he's mad at his uncle but the uncle has a point and also he didn't mean any harm... It also doesn't looks like Pere want to leave but he could consider the possibility and also discuss it with her as the matter concerns her. Maybe they could separate for the time being before the princess is caught. But again she wouldn't want to leave or he wouldn't want her to leave...
