@Drakensji just my theory but i think the mc feel her nearly and gamble for get her stronger and somehow defeat his father with this new power. Is to suddenly he just accept beeing stabed and he whole character is idea is survive no matter what

@mars he definitely had a reason for being stabbed, but I'm not sure he was aware of her nearby
