Also what's wrong with Beom calling his dad, 'Dad'? Like why must he call him father and not dad? Aren't they the same thing? Same meaning? Is there's something in Korea about that?

Koreans use 2 words to address dads
1. <romanized> Appa (mostly used by kids, informal)
2. <romanized> Aboeji (used by adults, formal)
Some adults still use 'Appa', if they're close and/or the parents don't mind.
