Yeah.. in the novel, Philip died. Philips family thought that sahan is the only way to make Philip perfectly sane again but on my opinion, it's actually good that sahan chose to stay in Korea cause he didn't, dosner might lock him up in that country forever and make him a therapy doll for Philip 😭 Philip is already depressed before he got on spaceship with sahan and when he communicates further with sahan, he seek refuge on him because he though both of them are alike (a depressed person) but sahan is actually more sane than Philip which made Philip dependent on him. For Philip, he's only sane if he is with sahan. (Which is very wrong mindset by the way) This su*cide is inevitable.
