@Jai Compenia She abandoned him when he was a child and remarried. Then when Hye-sung and Dojin got married it was everywhere in the news cuz Dojin is popular. His mother saw it and Dojin actually tried to set up a meeting between them but it was a mess. I just can't forgive her for leaving him behind and not caring to even look after him. Even tho she had her reasons, Hye-sung suffered so much cuz of her. I think the author is trying to narrow it down to fit the all sweet lovely and peaceful family story in the side stories.
