yes but tbh it's more he never understood emotions, morality, and boundaries so it's like he tries to solve everything in a more "logical" way that'll help and he doesn't take emotion in count. it's not that he wants to hurt them on purpose, it's just that he genuinely doesn't see why his actions are wrong. he does get his character development, you don't have to redeem him but this is just how i see it, sorry if i went on a ramble😭
