Comment on ChapterDesire Me if You Can - Chapter 14

guys lowk ik we all dislike greyson and hes a horrible person but like sometimes i cant help but feel bad for him yk? i mean imagine struggling with your own emotions SO BAD that you dont even have a sense of morality anymore - i mean he HONESTLY beleives hes doing the right thing, the same as when he did all of that s*t to chase. i think before hating on him ppl should try to understand how his mind works. its not like hes TRYING to be a terrible person, he just cant understand emotion, and thats how he was born.
honestly from what i got from that last few panels actually kind of depicted that he was abused? i dont know since i havent read the novel, but the idea in his head that 'only bad boys run away from punishments' especially with the kind of younger language he uses, like someone had repeatedly told HIM that a child.
he gets hated on a LOT and not even just in this book but in all the related books in which he appears in, and i dont think thats fair, in a way? people are so quick to judge him for his actions without trying to understand, and while i get that a lot of people just cant be bothered, which is fine, cause i was the exact same when i read kiss me if you can and hated him passionatley even when finding out that he was genuinley trying to be a good brother, i just think thats its worth trying to see his side of things.
i could just be talking out my a*s here but i dont actually blame him for the way he acts. i dont LIKE it obviously, because im a sane person, but i can understand that its not his fault.

@becauseyes i agree and how miller family children has the history of abduction in their childhood he might also have faced this issue or just emotionless person
@becauseyes SPOILER: In the novel Dane thought Greyson was abused too, He asked Greyson's father, but Ashley Miller just goes it's "discipline" and it's for the best / there's nothing else he can do. Children do things and accidents as a kid and naturally as a kid Greyson was just curious. Instead of lecturing him that he shouldn't do it (Greyson did something to Koi) and keep him around, he distanced his kids away from Koi. Then gave "discipline" Everyone just scolds and punishes Greyson, nobody truly taught him to know what's right or wrong. Instead of helping him learn emotions, Ashley made him imitate/copy emotions instead. He didn't even believe Greyson had emotions until he met Dane. Greyson wasn't even taught what emotions are supposed to be. He wasn't even taught what "help/helping" truly is. I didn't like Ashley and Koi as parents. Koi is just there, he's just babying them he's just.. hugging everyone and loves everyone but doesn't even teach them to be better. Ashley on the others hand is all about Koi, Koi this, Koi that. Whatever it is as long as Koi is safe and happy. He doesn't care about anything else. Maybe just a little he does, just a little though. He never backed down on giving money, material things and backing up his children's troubles. But that's just it. I did hear that he lost his mind during his novel though, I haven't read his yet. I think its abiut the pheromone thing when he doesn't extract them properly. So the Ashley as of current is not the same, if he hadn't lost his mind maybe he would've been a better parent.
