@Can't_help_being_an_otaku   You didn't understand me. I'll repeat, if it was a male character behaving like that then you wouldn't have a problem but since it's a girl, you have a problem. In bl, if a character behaves like she does, you wouldn't say anything like that cuz it's mlm. But since she's a potential love interest for Nox, it's wlm and suddenly it's annoying how she behaves And it doesn't have to be a bl to ship characters lol You're the one who's lost here since you didn't understand my previous comment.

Why do you keep making me repeat myself, seriously... pepe sticker

You're making a lot of assumptions about what I think, and that's the main problem with your argument.

1) You're not in my head.
You can't just decide that the only reason I'm annoyed is because Eleanor is a girl. You don't know me and you don't know what I would think if the situation was different. That's just speculation. pepe sticker

2) You're comparing two different narrative dynamics.
BL and hetero romance aren't always written the same way, and there are reasons for that. A lot of BL stories became popular partly because people were tired of seeing female characters constantly written as weak, dependent, or existing only as love interests in some hetero romances. So comparing the two genres like they're identical situations doesn't really work. trollface sticker

3) My issue is the behavior, not the gender.
If a male character had the exact same mindset as Eleanor (constantly making everything about the MC, needing his approval for everything, and interpreting every action as being about them) I would find that just as annoying. I simply don't like characters who revolve their entire identity around another person.

As I already said, Eleanor actually had a strong start when she was trying to gain power and become independent. That's why it's disappointing to me to see her become so dependent whenever Nox is involved.

So no, it's not about BL, shipping, or her being a girl. It's about how the character is written.   pepe sticker
