I've seen Soo many cases for this accused sh** is this accurate police, they accused you for sh** you didn't before finding out the truth

@Car What I don't understand is, why was he not given a lawyer?
@RecklessSavage he was given. But as you can see at the trial in earlier chapter. Someone's telling him to play the victim at the very end and that's probably his lawyer. I think once you are caught, you have no way out the trial, procedures etc were just formalities. The police, lawyers and judges are together in the project.
