What a wonderful story. The character are fleshed out and have personalities. They have difficulties and misunderstandings but they do what normal people do and talk about it. The mother is just a fantastic character she has a quiet confidence, but sometimes will explode when appropritate to be bear momma and I love it. The romance is actual romance, Mildred doesn't let her feelings go wild and her maturity shows and is done properly, while he liked her right away but wasn't head over heels and got to know her and the more he did the more he liked her and their relationship has grown through mutual help, and respect for each other.
