My guess is that they kidnap kids and use their power to make those artifacts with bad intentions, also in the story they mentioned the IG FL from the story who had an influence to help the 2nd prince which is strange, why would a maid have a better influence to help and for Rudger to fall in love with her and let his "wrongdoings" gone, I mean it seems he was also influenced by something. Well that mainly my theory but such plots exists in almost all of these stories. Still it's nice to see it's slow paced and they are building trust well, at least now it seems like that.
