Fast-growing bamboo would slowly pierce a victim's body over several days.

Involved forced water ingestion to simulate drowning or induce ruptures in the stomach.
14. Caning/Bastinado – Asia & Middle East (Ancient to modern times)
Whipping or beating of the soles of the feet. Not fatal, but incredibly painful and could cause lasting nerve damage.
15. Spiked Collar Torture – Africa (Various tribes, 1700s–1800s)
Victims wore wooden collars with inward spikes, causing constant pain and limiting movement.
16. Crucifixion – Ancient Rome (500 BCE–300 CE)
Slow execution through exhaustion, blood loss, and asphyxiation. Not as torturous as others but extremely humiliating and painful.
