@eivicidiiefyi To be frank, you ain't missing much. His only narrative role is to carry out the toxic obsessive romance the author had in mind and nothing else, so he is mostly shown to be motivated by nothing other than selfishness. From what I remember,
Spoiler!
after they get married he takes the opportunity to indulge in his lust whenever he wants, no matter how reluctantly she accedes to it (and, in multiple situations, even despite her saying she's not in the mood). The FL is stuck in this quagmire of a relationship where, haunted by a lifetime of the people who're supposed to care for her exploiting her, believes that she's "in love" with him for the second time. I can't blame her though. Once in a while, he throws her a crumb of what could be reasonably misconstrued as affection: taking her on a date or two, and also...and... oh, wait—yeah, that's about it. Lol

Notably, other than her maid, the only other person she meaningfully interacts with is the ML, and this is by his design. He controls and monitors where she goes and why, who she meets, and has the power to keep her under house arrest and deny her visitors (which he did do at one point). Even with all those oppressive measures, he misundertood that she's in love with someone else and thought she was planning to be with this illusive imaginary man after their contractual marriage period ended; his solution to that was to replace her contraceptives with dud pills and baby trap her. Now, unbeknowngst to him, she was planning to conceive that same coincidental day anyway to guarantee she'll get her son back, but the motive and act itself was so evil I genuinely never got over it.
@bibliophage I just hope second time she didn't fall in love with him and able to leave with her baby boy and solve all mysteries while find her killer also.
