basically the brunette had a hole in his lung during highschool and the class president took care of him when he couldn't breathe, after taking care of him/saving his life he grew interested in the brunette boy which later on developed into feelings of love, which were reciprocated by the brunette although neither of them ever confessed.
Fast forwards like 4 years, they're at a highschool reunion which they both went to to find each other and the brunette assumes the class prez is married/engaged because he has a ring on his ring-finger, when seeing this he goes outside to smoke kinda heartbroken ig, the class prez follows him bada-bing bada-boom they fuc***. The class prez puts the ring that was on his finger on the brunette (whilst he was sleeping) because he isn't actually engaged or getting married, the ring was in fact for the brunette; the brunette wakes up and leaves feeling guilty about sleeping with a taken man, however when he is on the train home he realises he has the ring on; during this time the class prez assumes he's been rejected and starts getting ready for the day. 
The brunette runs back to the class prez because he realises that was the class prez's way of confessing.
Sh** goes down they end up happy and together.
