@Pd2507 he's alive, he put something under his shirt so when shell shot him there  he wouldn't get hurt, he faked his death. The humans were mad at the vampires bc of the whole attack that Jack the Ripper and Humpty Dumpty caused, so they were going to fight resulting in more deaths. Eric took the blame, saying he caused the deaths and the bank explosion so that the people would think he caused everything. The entire plan to fake Eric's death was simply to stop the humans and vampires from fightin

@HUH As he HUH said, he used the fact he's half vampire half human to take the blame so neither parties could use it politically speaking too
If both to blame, then none will pay and as such they'll focus on rebuilding
